British Luxury at Its Most Exhilarating – The 2006 Bentley Continental GTC
With the introduction of the Continental GT in 2003, Bentley entered a new era. For the first time, the storied luxury marque from Crewe combined its renowned craftsmanship with state-of-the-art engineering from within the Volkswagen Group, appealing to a new generation of discerning customers. Three years later, Bentley introduced the Continental GTC, the open-top version that combined the refinement of a luxury grand tourer with the unrivalled pleasure of open-air motoring. The GTC quickly became one of the most successful luxury convertibles of its time, establishing itself as a symbol of effortless performance, exceptional comfort and timeless elegance.
Penned by Dirk van Braeckel, the design reinterprets Bentley's classic styling cues in a thoroughly modern form. The muscular front wings, imposing matrix grille and signature twin round headlamps pay homage to Bentley's legendary models of the 1950s, while the fully automatic fabric hood complements the car's elegant silhouette perfectly. Inside, the finest leather, exquisite wood veneers and meticulously crafted metal trim combine traditional British craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, creating an interior that satisfies the highest expectations.
Power is provided by Bentley's legendary 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine, producing an impressive 560 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. Paired with a finely calibrated six-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive, the Continental GTC delivers effortless acceleration while offering exceptional refinement and outstanding long-distance comfort. This unique blend of formidable performance and relaxed composure makes the Bentley one of the finest grand tourers of its generation.
The example offered here is finished in an elegant dark blue exterior, beautifully complemented by an exclusive beige leather interior. This classic colour combination perfectly emphasises the car's luxurious character and harmonises with the rich wood veneers and carefully executed chrome detailing throughout the cabin. Showing just 133,000 kilometres, the Bentley presents itself in a well-maintained and highly appealing overall condition.
The car was acquired from an authorised Bentley dealer at approximately 50,000 kilometres and has been carefully maintained ever since. Its most recent Swiss Motor Vehicle Inspection (MFK) was successfully completed in October 2022. Also included with the vehicle is its EC Certificate of Conformity (CoC), significantly facilitating registration throughout the European Union and further enhancing its appeal for international ownership.
Today, the first-generation Continental GTC is regarded as one of Bentley's most compelling modern classics. Its charismatic W12 engine, timeless styling and exceptional build quality have secured its place among the finest luxury grand tourers of the 21st century. Well-maintained examples with documented provenance are becoming increasingly sought after, offering enthusiasts of British luxury automobiles an outstanding combination of comfort, performance and exclusivity.
This Bentley Continental GTC uniquely combines effortless power, luxurious appointments and timeless elegance. It presents a rare opportunity to acquire a stylish high-performance convertible with unmistakable British character and exceptional long-distance touring capability.
